Engin Günana, Klaus Hageman/Daimler AG we find our partner in Steve Jobs / Apple Inc. (1997). My idea of flat screen pocket phone and a little bit greater version the tab with multifunctional application. One device for x applications: Telephone, messages, internet and email, calculator, camera for prototypes, voice recorder, music player, video recorder, video player, navigation system, schedular, weather information, stock exchange and program library (store) for other application. But the greatest challenge was the IOS. Many complicated finger and hand gestures was the basic to use the new generation of Operating System IOS But the initial moment for touch screen function was the Film Series Enterprise in which Captain Kirk called his colleges with a touch of a button.

iPhone Apple Inc. Cooperation and DaimlerChrysler AG

Begin at Daimler AG at 01.07.1997. Presentation my idea of many devices in one device and my concept to leaderships E4 Klaus Hagemann and E3 Dr. Rolf Klump. Klaus Hagemann find company Apple Inc. as cooperation partner and started. Steve Jobs appear in Stuttgart as our partner of hardware and software developments. First private meeting ad Daimler AG Stuttgart. Jobs was adjusted from company Next Inc. to Apple Inc. for this project. I introduce my concept; Jobs called his chief and the project started.

How we want called this product? I said iPhone, Dr. Klump and Jobs was surprised, why iPhone? It's easy the product phone and i to i and phone to iPhone.

iPhone Operating System IOS

The operating System IOS was in addition to hardware development the greatest challenge. A little display without a keyboard but should be function as Windows, the greatest challenge with the question how? The magic word: Finger- and Gesture Based Operating System, development in C++ as best efficient programmer language as closed system IOS-System without any combability with other IOS-Systems. We search probands and show finger movements and combination with display character. We foundation display functionality in layer technology with electrical grids to use every point and surface at touchscreen display. This was one of our greatest challenge Steve shows me technical solution in addition to my proposal. First iPhone 3G was ready, to small and to slow with 3G GSM standard. Steve had a wish in origin we want start with iPhone 1 but mobile network distributor AT & T wish with a request of 3G, we complied the request and accept the name iPhone 3G.

iPhone Function scope and Design

Data transfer internal with iPhone devices with iDrop standard a new standard with external devices. The name Bluetooth was a fix idea from me i opened as child sometimes with my teeth's coca cola bottles and i remind me this fact and named the new standard Bluetooth.

Bridge solution Wi-Fi

iPhone 2G our first iPhone a little bit to small slow internet and a slow touch screen, we were under cost and time pressure, but we solved this challenge with calculi. Stop distribution. Find a bridge solution, we check to possibility of frequence area and define with a device WLAN a new frequence for short distance for internal and office application with good solution and use iPhone internal as test prototypes to collect experience as best in practice optimize to touch screen functionality with grid and layer technology until we the mobile technology make a jump to next standard 3G

We clarified and solved with our human resource, insurance and legality department the situation with DaimlerChrysler AG. Our experts find no conflict and interfaces to passenger car development scope and my contract with DaimlerChrysler AG. Because of security we outsource our regular meeting with Apple Inc. to building Roser in Stuttgart Esslingen. My participation with Apple Inc. was to less we arranged to less agreement about 1% shares i want 10% and more but his was at this time not possible. 10% shares are fair and justified for development scope. I was responsible for design development and technology, marketing distribution and advertising. 

Distribution concept

iPhone and iPhone plus from the beginning, we make a common decision we won't classically advertising, our product must be convinced. our product must be first at market in quality, technology, value stability and we want distribution two variants, a classic variant with a default scope and a plus variant with more capacity. Our management should be lean like a start-up company, one person is responsible for Technology and Development, one person for Sales and Marketing etc. Lean management, like a start-up company without a water head.
